FSTB team participates in packaging and distribution of anti-epidemic service bags

The Government started delivering about 3.5 million anti-epidemic service bags to the households of the 18 districts in Hong Kong from April 2. As substantial manpower was required in the packaging work, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) actively responded by mobilising about 140 colleagues from the bureau and departments under its purview to establish a packaging team. The team assisted in the packaging work for three days from March 30 with an aim to distributing the supplies to members of the public as soon as possible.

The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Christopher Hui, the Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Treasury), Miss Cathy Chu and the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Joseph Chan on March 30 visited the packaging centre of anti-epidemic service bags set up at Kowloon Tong Government Primary School to give encouragement to colleagues and joined them in participating in the packaging work.

On April 2, Mr Christopher Hui led the FSTB team in to distribute anti-epidemic service bags to grass-roots families in Kowloon City. Team members included the Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Financial Services), Ms Salina Yan, the Permanent Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Treasury), Miss Cathy Chu, the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Joseph Chan, and six Deputies Secretaries of the FSTB. The team distributed the service bags to residents at the transitional housing under Lok Sin Tong Modular Social Housing Scheme and "three-nil" buildings in the district, encouraging them to make good use of the items to fight the virus.
